Explorers Wrapping Success Uncategorized by Sonya Bernard-Hollins - December 30, 2018December 30, 20180 One satisfied customer! Great job Nevaeh! Aliah and Arhea help guests select the perfect bow for their Christmas gift during the annual Gift Wrapping Fundraiser at the Crossroads Mall. For the second year, the Merze Tate Explorers wrapped gifts for hurried Christmas shoppers at the Crossroads Mall in Portage, Michigan. Gifts of all shapes and sizes were wrapped for donations to support the study abroad scholarship fund for the Explorers. The 2019 study abroad destination is Japan! Selected Explorers will travel to Numazu, the sister city of Kalamazoo. The Kalamazoo delegation will experience Japan with the help of host families who will share Japanese life, culture, and education with the nearly two dozen delegates. Our new boys chapter joined in as well to raise funds for their upcoming college and career adventures. Boys with Promise and their supporters took over two shifts to raise more than $600 in their first fundraising effort! Daniel Patterson, founder of Boys with Promise, was excited to share their mission with those who gave donations to support their 2019 efforts! Thanks to all who came out to help raise more than $5,000 in funds! Community members and parents came out to help wrap! Pretty Lake Camp staff join in to wrap for community service hours as Explorers shared of our mission to Explore Possibilities as others wrapped…and wrapped! Staff of Pretty Lake Camp volunteer! Dan Patterson of Boys with Promise shows his kids how to put finishing touches on presents! Mentor Roy Hudson poses for the camera with Boys with Promise students!
